WELCOME MESSAGE

The 2020 Asia Pacific Forum for Environmental Health Assessment (APF-EHA 2020) will be held by Climate, Air Quality Research Unit, Monash University, Australia.  This forum will bring together academic staff, researchers in universities, government representatives, health professionals, and students who are dedicated to the protection of human health from the environmental pollution and climate change. We warmly welcome all participants.

The APF-EHA conference is a global platform to discuss and learn about the heart of all matters relating to air pollution, climate change as well as urbanisation and health in Asia-pacific region. While climate change and air pollution have a broad range of health impacts, the Asia-Pacific region stands particularly vulnerable to their adverse consequences where more than half of the world’s population and nearly two-thirds of the world’s poor live there, with nearly 70 of the world’s 100 most polluted cities.

The APF-EHA conference will be a great opportunity to share recent innovations and new methods for environmental epidemiology, climate change and environmental health to facilitate the development and good health for all citizens in Asia-Pacific region. During the conference, we will formally launch the Asia Pacific Cohort Consortium for Environmental Health Effects (20 cohorts in 9 countries/regions), which is the largest collaboration network in Asia Pacific to assess the environmental health impacts (e.g., air pollution, climate change, residential environment, urbanisation, noise, etc). We anticipate that more collaborators will be involved in this consortium to make contribution to healthy environment in Asia Pacific region.

Happy to meet you in Melbourne, Australia, in 2020!
